Serger Project - Tablerunner and Napkins - October 27 (1:30-5:30)

Get comfortable and confident using your serger in this hands-on project class. In this workshop, you’ll create a pieced table runner and a set of napkins using only your serger, learning practical techniques that you can use again and again at home.

You’ll practice flat piecing fabric together with a flatlock stitch for the table runner, learn a clean way to finish the edges, then use the roll hem feature on your serger to create tidy, clean hem edges on your napkins — two versatile serger skills that are perfect for home décor projects, hemming garments, and quick handmade gifts.

By the end of class, you’ll leave with a finished table runner and a set of napkins, along with the confidence to keep using your serger for future projects.

Who This Class Is For

This class is ideal for sewists who:

• Own a serger, know how to thread it and have used it before, but want to feel more comfortable using it.  If you do not know how to thread your machine or have zero experience using it, please register for an upcoming Serger Basics Class instead, or schedule a one-on-one lesson with one of our seamstresses at Sugarcane Studios (located above our fabric store).  
• Have basic sewing experience 
• Want to build practical serger skills through a finished project

Materials

Please bring:

• Serger (in good working order), along with manual, foot pedal, power cord
• 4 serger threads
• Basic sewing tools (scissors, pins, seam ripper, ruler)
• Assorted fabrics totaling 2 yards for the table runner (this will be pieced)
• 1 yard of fabric for six napkins

Ages 16+ unless otherwise noted.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made by email. No refunds within 7 days of the first class. Instead, we may give you credit to use for future classes. Once the class has started, missed classes cannot be rescheduled or refunded, but we’ll do our best to help you catch up if possible.
