Jeans Lab - Hollywood Hems - November 21 (3-5pm)

Have a pair of jeans sitting in your closet that are too long?  Want them to have the original distressed hem edge on them so they still look worn-in?  Some call this hemming technique the "Hollywood Hem".  Once you learn this method, you can be sure all your jeans look like they were made for you!  

This hands-on Jeans Lab (Hollywood hems) is designed to help you finally make your jeans wearable — with guidance, fitting help, and real-time instruction.

In this collaborative workshop, you’ll bring your own ill-fitting jeans and learn how to assess the hem, pin accurately, and translate those pins into successful alterations. You’ll leave with practical skills you can use again and again on your own wardrobe.

What You’ll Learn

• How to properly mark the hem of your jeans

• How to “read” your pins and convert them into sewing steps

• Order of operations for jeans hemming alterations 
  

Who This Class Is For

This class is for confident sewers and up who:

• Know how to use a sewing machine independently

• Have some experience working on/making clothing

• Want hands-on guidance with real garments

This is not a demo-style class — expect to be actively sewing, fitting, and problem-solving.

What to Bring

• Sewing machine (in good working order)

• Basic sewing tools (scissors, pins, seam ripper, ruler, tape measure, marking pen or chalk)

• Jeans or Heavy-duty thread that matches your jeans' original stitching

• One pair of jeans that is too long

• A fun attitude — we promise it helps

Policies:

Ages 16+ unless otherwise noted.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made by email. No refunds within 7 days of the first class. Instead, we may give you credit to use for future classes. Once the class has started, missed classes cannot be rescheduled or refunded, but we’ll do our best to help you catch up if possible.
