Jeans Lab (Waist/Seat) - November 21 (10am -2pm)

Have a pair of jeans sitting in your closet that gape in the back waist and/or seat? This is a common fit issue for women with curves.  You buy your jeans for your hip/thigh size, but then the waist is gapping.  This hands-on Jeans Lab (Waist/Seat) is designed to help you finally make your jeans fit your gorgeous, unique curves — with guidance, fitting help, and real-time instruction.

In this collaborative workshop, you’ll bring your own ill-fitting jeans and learn how to assess fit, pin accurately, and translate those pins into successful alterations. You’ll leave with practical skills you can use again and again on your own wardrobe.

What You’ll Learn

• How to properly fit your jeans; pinning techniques for waist and seat adjustments

• How to “read” your pins and convert them into sewing steps

• Order of operations for adjusting your jeans' waist
  

Who This Class Is For

This class is for confident sewers and up who:

• Know how to use a sewing machine independently

• Have some experience working on/making clothing

• Want hands-on guidance with real garments

This is not a demo-style class — expect to be actively sewing, fitting, and problem-solving.

What to Bring

• Sewing machine (in good working order)

• Basic sewing tools (scissors, pins, seam ripper, ruler, tape measure, marking pen or chalk)

• Jeans thread that matches the original seams of your jeans

• Machine needles for Jeans or size 100/16

• One ill-fitting pair of jeans

• A fun attitude — we promise it helps

Policies:

Ages 16+ unless otherwise noted.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made by email. No refunds within 7 days of the first class. Instead, we may give you credit to use for future classes. Once the class has started, missed classes cannot be rescheduled or refunded, but we’ll do our best to help you catch up if possible.
