Zipper Techniques - Skill-Building Class - April 13 (Monday 2:30-5:30)

Zippers can feel intimidating, but with the right approach, they become a powerful and practical garment skill. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to sew 3 different types of zippers by making samples. This will help you gain confidence through real-time practice.

Time: 2:30-5:30pm

What You’ll Learn

Techniques include:

• Installing a lapped zipper

• Sewing an invisible zipper

• Sewing an inset/separating zipper
  

• Proper marking, pinning, and order of operations for clean results

Who This Class Is For

This class is ideal for confident beginners and up who:

• Know how to use a sewing machine independently

• Have some experience working with garments

• Want hands-on guidance installing zippers

What to Bring

• Sewing machine (in good working order)

• Basic sewing tools (scissors, pins, seam ripper, ruler, marking pen or chalk)

• A spool of contrasting thread (will be working with muslin)

• NOTE: We will provide muslin and the zippers you will use to make the samples.

Ages 16+ unless otherwise noted.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made by email. No refunds within 7 days of the first class. Instead, we may give you credit to use for future classes. Once the class has started, missed classes cannot be rescheduled or refunded, but we’ll do our best to help you catch up if possible.
