Fit Lab (Jan/Feb Dates)

This hands-on session is perfect for experienced sewists ready to elevate their garment-making skills by learning how to fit their projects properly—and how to transfer those adjustments back to their patterns.

Each participant will bring a garment they’ve made (ideally a mock-up or "muslin"), and we’ll conduct live fittings one at a time, as a group. You’ll receive expert guidance on fitting your piece, while also learning from observing others' fitting challenges and solutions. In the final 20–30 minutes, we’ll walk the group through how to apply your fitting changes to your pattern pieces so you’re ready to cut in your final fabric.

Who is this class for?
This class is for experienced sewists who want to achieve better-fitting garments from commercial patterns. It’s a great lead-in to a Help Desk session for continued and specific support.

Location:
This class takes place at Sugarcane Studios, our sewing studio located right above Sewing Studio Fabrics. There is an elevator in the center of the building next to Vapor World for easy access.

Supplies Needed:

• One personally-sewn garment to be fit (we recommend making a mock-up in muslin or a test fabric).  

• A notebook and/or phone to take notes or record your fitting

Club Card Info:

This class is eligible for our Club Card—attend any combination of Fit Lab or Help Desk sessions 5 times, and your 6th one is free!

Policies:

• Ages 16+ unless otherwise noted.

• Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made by email. No refunds within 7 days of the first class. Instead, we may give you credit to use for future classes. Once the class has started, missed classes cannot be rescheduled or refunded, but we’ll do our best to help you catch up if possible.

• Each class has limited space, so please register early to reserve your spot.
