Meet your new favorite project: the Wedge Pouch — a structured, top-zip pouch sewn entirely on your serger. It’s called a wedge because of its shape, and yes… it’s equally perfect for holding your sewing tools (or your favorite wedge of cheese...we support both lifestyles! Ha!)
This pouch has a flat base so it stands neatly on your table while you sew, but the body is shaped to give it dimension and structure — making it more functional (and more interesting) than a basic flat pouch.
This one-day, technique-focused workshop is designed to help you get comfortable and confident with your serger. You’ll practice:
Inserting a zipper using your serger
Piecing fabrics together with flat-lock seams
Managing 3D structure on an overlock machine
No sewing machine required — this project is constructed entirely on your serger.
You’ll walk away with at least one completed pouch, and possibly more depending on your pace. More importantly, you’ll leave with new serger skills you can apply to future projects with confidence.
Instructor: Jo Duration: 4 hours (one-day workshop)
Supplies Needed:
Fabrics Needed: 1/2 yard total fabric for exterior (you may bring multiple fabrics for piecing), 1/2 yard lining fabric, 1/2 yard flannel or fusible fleece to use for batting between layers
Notions: 9" zipper (or longer. Bring 1 zipper for each bag), 3 serger thread spools
Serger (Don't forget the foot pedal and power cord!)
Basic Sewing Tools: scissors, seam ripper, pins or clips, ruler, marking pen or chalk
Optional: Decorative Threads or Embroidery Floss for weaving through or customizing your bag.

Ages 16+ unless otherwise noted.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made by email. No refunds within 7 days of the first class. Instead, we may give you credit to use for future classes. Once the class has started, missed classes cannot be rescheduled or refunded, but we’ll do our best to help you catch up if possible.
