                                    Spring is Here!

Longer days with more blue skies has me thinking about sewing all the latest pattern releases!  There are some fantastic new styles that will be perfect for lazy summer days, BBQs, or summer weddings.  Let's check out a few and share some fabric pairings to get your creativity flowing!

First UpThe Holmes Top and Dress by the Uncut Project -  You will love the open back with the deep gathered cut, especially on those warmer days when you need to feel the breeze!

Next “must have” pattern is the Veronik Robe by Closet Core Patterns.  This is a luxurious robe for cozy time at home or an layering piece for out on the street.    As we have come to expect with all Closet Core patterns the options are endless.   Chose your options for length, collar, sleeve style, and sash look.   Don’t miss the roomy slanted pockets!

And, because I am most often found wearing layers to keep warm...The Lisa Cardigan by Seamwork is a MUST for me.   The Lisa Cardigan is a fun, satisfying piece to play with - use some vintage buttons, there is room for four 1 inch buttons on the center front!   Relaxed, roomy fit that's ideal for layering.  You might want to batch sew a few of these cardigans!  What?  You are not a Seamwork member...Join NOW!   Not only will you have access to their amazing patterns, but also tutorials, member bonuses, and, most importantly, fabric discounts for many shops worldwide!

Speckled Sweater Knit - Rhubarb
Sweatshirt Fleece - Oatmeal Fleck
Bamboo-Cotton French Terry - Teal

The NEXT pattern I am dreaming of is the Anthea Blouse + Dress Pattern by Anna Allen Clothing and Patterns.  Such a sleeve statement - Puffed sleeves, fold over button up placket...so beautiful.   You MUST check out the Scoop Neck pattern hack - dreamy!      Sew this in woven fabrics, you can choose the drape to create the look you like.

Just a couple of spring fabric options....trust me you will want more than one Anthea, so the fabric options are limitless.     On the left is a Cotton Lawn in a Creamy Tangerine Floral and on the right Organic Cotton Lawn - Orchard.   Don't miss the dress version, too!

These are just a few things I have been dreaming of for the upcoming season.   I would love to hear what you are planning on sewing for the upcoming warmer days.   I am still enjoying the excitement of seeing people more in person, and want to show up looking a bit put together.  Pop me a note, or send me a message on Instagram with your summer sewing goals.   Let me know what fabric's you are dreaming about.  Stay tuned for some upcoming changes here at Sewing Studio, we are working behind the scenes to update and make your fabric shopping a bit easier.

Happy Sewing ~
