Content: 90% Cotton, 10% Spandex
Width: 66 inches!!
We're not supposed to have favorites but this horizontal, variegated striped knit is just the perfect balance of being classic and interesting, having just the right amount of spandex added to the cotton, and being soft and thick, but not so thick to break a needle that it really is perfect all around. The white is a warm, creamy white, the black is deep and saturated, and the stretch recovery is top-shelf, leaving us dreaming of all the pattern options. It is in a low profile 1x1 rib knit, meaning it presents as a flat knit, but you can easily use the primary fabric as the trim ribbing as well if the pattern calls for it without added elastic, for example at a wrist cuff or cardigan front. On the heavier side of light weight, you can choose anything from a t-shirt pattern to a light cardigan and more, and it is yarn dyed, so the wrong and right side are the same. This was a deadstock find, so get it while you can as quantities are limited.
Many fabrics in the Sewing Studio are "dead stock" fabrics from the fashion industry, and fiber content is sometimes best educated guess. Sourcing in general is less predictable during COVID-19, and it's very rare to restock a dead stock fabric during normal circumstances. We source and purchase only what we feel to be of the highest quality for our customers.
