Fashion house deadstock batiste/classic UK-style muslin, this stuff is amaaaazing. We had a roll of black that was gone in a flash. Luckily, we got to sew with the black before it all left, and it washes up soft, blooms a bit but does remain sheer, the color stayed saturated, and it sews like a dream. Naturally when the cobalt and bronze became available (and some lovely gauze in magenta {shown} and black), we had to snatch it up.
Plan to wear something under it, like a tank top, t-shirt, or slip if making a dress, OR use it as an amazing underlining for that lace or eyelet dress you've been wanting to make!!! You've got options galore, and it sews & presses very nicely. We have very limited yardage of each, so snag it if you love it. Something like the Melilot shirt will make a fantastic spring layering piece, just about anything by Sew Liberated is practically made for these fabrics, the Darling Ranges dress, and Wiksten top in a single color or color-blocked would be incredible. So many choices.
Many fabrics in the Sewing Studio are "dead stock" fabrics from the fashion industry, and fiber content is sometimes best educated guess. Sourcing in general is less predictable during COVID-19, and it's very rare to restock a dead stock fabric during normal circumstances. We source and purchase only what we feel to be of the highest quality for our customers.
